DIGITAL ENGLISH CLUB

Digital English Club

The Digital English Club (DEC) expands access to quality English education for children in remote island communities by combining in-person classroom participation with live online instruction. Through this hybrid learning model, students attend classes together in their villages while connecting virtually with experienced English teachers, overcoming the geographical barriers that often limit access to quality education in the Anambas Islands.

Delivered in partnership with CAKAP, the program features a curriculum designed specifically for children living in small-island communities. Alongside English language skills, students explore topics such as environmental conservation, sustainability, and responsible waste management, helping them build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to pursue future opportunities while becoming active stewards of their island environment.

The availability of Internet connections enables students to interact in real-time with their tutors in Jakarta. The
class is held in classrooms and libraries that have Internet connections provided by the government. We provide students
with electronic devices and set up the class schedule for one academic year. Before starting the course, we have a
placement test to measure the English skills of the students.
