TURTLE CONSERVATION

Turtle Conservation

Sea turtles are an important part of Anambas' marine ecosystems, but their populations continue to face threats from egg harvesting, habitat disturbance, and other human pressures.

We work closely with local communities to protect nesting beaches, safeguard turtle nests, and support the successful release of hatchlings back into the sea. The program combines regular monitoring, research, and environmental education to help ensure the long-term survival of sea turtles in the Anambas Islands.

A key focus of the program is Teluk Dalam and Sunggak in West Jemaja, where community rangers play an active role in monitoring nesting beaches, protecting turtle habitats, and raising awareness about sea turtle conservation.

By working alongside local communities, we aim to strengthen stewardship of coastal ecosystems and create a safer future for sea turtles in Anambas.
